Requests from IP / ASN Resource Owners
Overview
RADb recognizes the IP address and ASN resource holder (as registered with the relevant RIR) as the authoritative party regarding how their resources are represented.
If an object in RADb contains your IP space or ASN but is maintained by another party, please follow the process below for resolution.
RADb management will respect the rights of the legitimate resource holder.
When You Do Not Control the Maintainer
Sometimes, a route, route6, aut-num, as-set or related object may:
Contain your IP prefix or ASN
Be maintained by a maintainer you do not control
In these cases, the IP/ASN owner should first make a good faith effort to resolve the issue directly.
Step 1 — Contact the Maintainer
The resource owner should:
Attempt to contact the listed maintainer
Clearly describe the requested change or correction
Allow reasonable time for a response
This establishes that the owner has attempted to resolve the matter directly.
RADb Support Involvement
If the maintainer does not respond, the IP/ASN owner may contact RADb Support for assistance.
📧 RADb Support: support@radb.net
Please include:
The object name(s) (route, route6, aut-num, etc.)
The IP prefix or ASN involved
Evidence that you are the resource holder (RIR reference, WHOIS link, etc.)
A summary of the attempts made to contact the maintainer
RADb Support will review the request and verify resource ownership.
Maintainer Contact Attempt by RADb
Once verified, RADb Support can:
Attempt to contact the object’s maintainer directly
Request that they respond to the resource holder and address the issue
This step gives the maintainer an opportunity to act before further intervention.
If the Maintainer Does Not Respond
If the maintainer remains unresponsive after a reasonable period:
RADb administrators may reset the maintainer password
This action is intended to stimulate contact and regain engagement
Additional administrative steps may be taken as appropriate to resolve the issue
These actions are taken carefully and only after ownership verification and failed contact attempts.
Authority of the Resource Holder
In RADb:
The IP/ASN owner, as recognized by the relevant RIR, has the primary authority over how their resources are represented.
RADb management will respect this authority and work to ensure that database records do not prevent legitimate resource holders from managing the representation of their own IP space and ASNs.
